Hobbies

GamesObviously, I like playing games. Both board games & video games. I attend a few board gaming groups & play the occasional video game when I get the time to. Some of my favorites include:
– Persona Series
– Dishonored Series
– Bioshock Series
– Team Fortress 2
RunningSince 2019 I’ve been regularly running. I mainly run to get out and for exercise. But also take part in the occasional race. I normally run 2-3 times a week, running 5/10K’s, though I hope to run a half marathon one day.

Currently on a hiatus due to a knee injury, may be out of action for a while, while it heals properly.
ReadingI’ve recently got into reading a bit more as well. Wasn’t really into it in my childhood, but making up for lost time a little now. Mostly read mysteries and a mix of genres from Japanese authors at the moment.
Arts & CraftsWhile I don’t get much time to, I do enjoy the occasional craft. I’ve knitted my own scarf & made an arcade cabinet so far. Though I have tried cross stitch, crochet & more.
Daily Rubber DuckStarted in 2020 as a personal “joke” New Year’s resolution. So I’d actually achieve one. I post a picture of the same rubber duck each day on an Instagram account. It’s still going today somehow. I couldn’t post duplicate scenarios for the 1st year, though that has lapsed in years since. Each year also gets a unique frame for the pictures to be placed in.
JapaneseAs a hobby and a challenge I started learning Japanese at the start of 2023. I do a little bit everyday and am slowing making progress. I hope to one day be able to speak, write and understand the language. But I know that’ll take quite a while to achieve.

Taking a break in 2025, but hoping to get back into it properly in 2026!
Volunteering I like to volunteer when I can. Currently, I volunteer weekly at my local Parkrun. I normally do Timekeeping but have done most of the main roles such as Marshalling, Token Sorting, Barcode Scanning, Tail Walking etc. I do plan to volunteer more in the future when I properly move out from my family home.
